Hornbeam Leaves - small framed imprint
Bring a little bit of nature into your home...
A porcelain imprint taken from a hornbeam leaves. The leaves are carefully pressed into a very thin slab of porcelain clay and removed. Over subsequent kiln firings the leaf impressions are revealed by washes of different oxides brushed into the veined texture. Each leaf impression is made completely by hand, the hand colouring creates subtle shade and colour variations therefore no two will ever be the same, even if taken from the same leaf!
The leaf fragment/tile is float mounted in a neutral 'distressed' wood box frame.
